“The lyrics to the song say a lot of things that a lot of us are thinking. It lets us know that whatever obstacle or whatever thing we’re going through, that we can take it to the King. It just means the world to me that I can call my Heavenly Father, my Savior, and He’ll be there for me. In a time of need, happiness, sorrow, whatever the emotions, or whatever the thing is, He’s always there,” Mann said.

On Oct. 29, 2013, she released the Best Days (Deluxe Edition) through her independent label, Tillymann Music Group and Central South Distribution. The deluxe CD features live versions of Best Days, Take Me to the King, Guest of Honor, and I Surrender All, and the two new songs, I Can Only Imagine and Now Behold the Lamb.

That same month, Mann took home two Gospel Music Association Dove Awards during their 44th annual awards show. She won Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for Best Days and Traditional Gospel Song for Take Me to the King.

When Mann went to the podium after accepting the awards, she explained that she was at a loss for words on whom to thank because she was so delighted. At the ceremony, she performed a medley of Take Me to the King with I Can Only Imagine, which was well received.

In 2010, Mann obtained her first Dove Award for her third album The Master Plan. The record was also released as a deluxe edition, which included her husband’s Mr. Brown’s Good Ol’ Time Church CD, and a full bonus DVD of music videos and behind the scenes footage.

Mann is currently touring and pulling together material for her next album. She is also working on a new sitcom.

She recently starred in the TBS comedy Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns as Cora Simmons, the loving and churchgoing daughter of Deacon Leroy Brown (played by Mann’s husband) and Mabel “Madea” Simmons (played by Perry). Moreover, she played this role in Perry’s 2004 play and 2008 film of the same name.

She is still planning a cooking show with her husband, as well as their marriage ministry. She stated that as a couple, her and her husband’s mission is to encourage other married couples to stay together.

Mann wished to thank everyone for their support of Best Days and to remind them that the Best Days (Deluxe Edition) is in stores now. She added that people can follow her at http://www.davidandtamelamann.com, and hoped for a great turnout at the 29th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards last month.

She has been nominated for Artist of the Year, Albertina Walker Female Vocalist of the Year, CD of the Year, Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year, Traditional CD of the Year, Urban/Inspirational Single or Performance of the Year, and Praise and Worship CD of the Year.
