Last week, the Office of Family and Community Engagement hosted a Parent Appreciation Celebration and Resource Fair at the former campus of D.A. Hulcy Middle School, 9339 S. Polk St. The celebration and resource fair recognized parents whose contributions and involvement in their children’s education helped the district raise student achievement.

In addition, more than 60 community organizations and district departments were on-hand to provide information about services available to families along with summer engagement opportunities for children and families to equip and empower parents to support their children in academic, emotional and social avenues.

The Billy Earl Dade Middle School jazz band and the W.E. Greiner Exploratory Arts Academy Mariachi gave a performance during the event.
