Craft Syndicate by Dutch Masters will celebrate its second year by searching for innovators with an unwavering commitment to making their dream a reality. The group looks to share the craft by pairing an aspiring music producer with an established music producer and entrepreneur and tasking them to collaborate in developing a marketable song. The winner will be awarded the opportunity to work with industry expert and noted music producer Don Cannon as well as a $15,000 grant.

“Being a mentor for the Craft Syndicate program allows me to connect to and inspire other DJs and producers to excel and know there are no limits to their futures,” Cannon said. “As a music executive and DJ I look forward to working with young producers and artists because it allows me to get re-energized. I always keep my ear to the streets and working directly with them is the best way to understand how any generation’s music works.”

Registration is open until Aril 20 for producers 21 years old and older at http://www.craft-syndicate.com, along with more information about the program. Once registered, an entrant may submit one or more music tracks and must upload, tagging the group in the post copy to a participating social media site.

Contest entries will be initially judged by a panel of music professionals, each of whom will select up to 10 finalists. Cannon will select the grand prize winner from all the chosen finalists.

Lending their expertise to this program as Craft Syndicate judges will be Grammy Award winning producer and music executive Kawan “KP” Prather, resident tour DJ and author DJ Mars and music producer OG Parker.

THE COLONY

The World’s Largest Dog Day, hosted by Law of Attraction Brothers, is scheduled for April 29 from noon to 4 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Texas Coalition for Animal Protection, a recognized nonprofit and 501(c)(3) organization that provides compassionate solutions to pet overpopulation and community animal welfare. TCAP also provides affordable, high quality preventative services available to Texas pet owners.

The purpose of the event is to bring thousands of people in the community together for a fun, Guinness-record breaking dog event. This event helps pet-related nonprofits bring awareness to their organization and raise much needed funds. Records attempted to be broken include: the largest gathering of people dressed as dogs, the most dogs wearing bandanas, the most dogs balancing a treat on their nose and the largest dog grooming session.

During the event, TCAP will provide low cost vaccinations for dogs, a doggy day care for both small and large dogs, and contests including: ugliest dog, cutest dog, most drool, most talented and most pet owner/fur baby look-alike. Face painting and educational demonstrations will also take place. Carter Blood Care will have a booth at the event located directly outside of the park for guests who would like to donate blood. Local area animal shelters will be in attendance if guests would like to adopt their new best friend. Pet owners are required to bring a copy of their pet’s current vaccination and rabies records.
