Prism Health North Texas, the largest local nonprofit organization providing care to those living with HIV/AIDS in North Texas, has moved to a new South Dallas Clinic.
In 1986, the organization opened at AIDS Arms Inc. with the purpose of caring for individuals living with AIDS. As it transformed its care to focus more on living with HIV, it changed its name to the Peabody Health Center in 2007. Now, as the spectrum of education, prevention and treatment has expanded, it celebrates another transformation with its another name and location change.
“Although the legacy of the Peabody clinic site will be missed, the Consumer Advisory Board is really excited for the new South Dallas clinic location of the Prism Health North Texas’ state of the art facility. The new clinic will still offer expert medical care and the ‘feel at home/family care’ experience that you have grown accustomed to. It means a lot to us that you will continue to access quality, personalized care at this brand new location!” shared a representative of the Consumer Advisory Board for Prism Health North Texas.
On Tuesday, the doors of the new site opened at 4922 Spring Ave. The clinic hopes to be more easily accessible to the Southern Dallas community, a region of Dallas that has one of the highest concentrations of persons living with HIV.
This facility will bring a host of new benefits for patients. The facility will feature state of the art HIV medical care, innovative clinical research trials, onsite behavioral health counseling, same day appointments and more. Its phone number is still 214-421-7848.
“The new clinic is a state of the art facility, conveniently located, and easily accessible by public transportation,” said Dr. Deborah Morris-Harris, PHNTX Chief Medical Officer. “Our brand of personalized primary care and integrated behavioral health will continue to be delivered in a patient-centered medical home model at our new site. We anticipate patients receiving enhanced services in a sunny and appealing environment.”
