Families from Southern Dallas and surrounding cities gathered at Southwest Center Mall to visit with representatives from some of the best schools. This year, however, at the Second Annual Education and Enrichment Fair, families also had the chance to meet with dozens of colleges, universities, enrichment programs and family service providers as well.
School representatives helped families discover, evaluate and even apply for a wide variety of top-notch programs. Featured schools in attendance included public, private, charter, collegiate academies, Montessori, magnet, single-gender schools and more.
“This education fair is a great opportunity for families in the southern Dallas County community to connect with area schools,” said mall owner Peter Brodsky. “We’ve found that many in the area are not always aware of the high-quality education opportunities available – often for free. The fair is a one-stop shop for families to discover those opportunities for their kids. And as part of our reimagining of RedBird, we want to create a place where the community can gather for the common good – as well as to work and play.”
The fair was free and offered attendees refreshments as well as prize drawings donated by participating schools. Attendees could also visit the Reimagine RedBird booth to get a clearer vision of the new development transforming Southwest Center Mall.
As part of the Reimagine RedBird redevelopment, the fair sought to promote education in Southern Dallas and to help facilitate members of the community in discovering the best opportunities available for their children. The event was part of an ongoing series of high-quality community events hosted by Southwest Center Mall.
