Legislative Town Hall Meeting with Rep. Davis

State Rep. Yvonne Davis will hold a Legislative Town Hall Meeting for constituents of District 111 to discuss pending legislation currently before the Texas House of Representatives as well as other community concerns. The meeting will be held March 25 from 10 a.m. to noon in the auditorium of Methodist Charlton Medical Center, located at 3500 W. Wheatland Road. Dallas ISD Fam Jam!

Families can receive free resources and immunizations, while participating in hands-on activities, food, entertainment and prizes at the next Fam Jam. The event will be held March 25 from 9 a.m. to noon at Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy, located at 3030 Stag Road. Families will also have the opportunity to learn about neighborhood schools and choice programs in the Spruce, Seagoville and Samuell feeder patterns. Touch A Truck: Emergency Vehicles!

Touch A Truck: Emergency Vehicles! is a special event that features emergency vehicles from the Dallas Fire Department and Dallas Police Department. Families can get up close to a Fire Engine, a Ladder Truck, Mounted Patrol, drones, SWAT vehicles, patrol cars and more. The event will be held March 25 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the outdoor plaza in front of The Children’s Aquarium Dallas at Fair Park, located at 1462 First Ave. From 1 to 2 p.m., a quiet time with no sirens or horns will be observed for children who need a more sensory friendly experience. Parking is free in front of the Aquarium. No reservations are required. Tickets are available at the door or online at http://www.childrensaquarium.com.

 

Easter Bacon & Egg Hunt

Downtown Dallas Inc. will host its 4th annual Easter Bacon & Egg Hunt at Pacific Plaza, located at 401 N. Harwood St. Children and adult hunters should bring their own baskets to participate in the free family-friendly event. From noon to 4 p.m., families and pets will be able to walk up and down Downtown streets to collect treats from local retail spaces. There will also be adoption kennels on site, food trucks, costume contests, face painting, balloon artist, photos with the Easter Bunny, prizes and more.

All dogs must be leashed and owners are expected to keep pups at a respectful distance from other furry hunters. Families and individuals are asked not to include food-aggressive dogs in the hunt, but they can join other activities. Aggressive or reactive dogs are not permitted to participate in any activities.

‘You got a friend in me’

Discover Downtown Dallas Movie Series: Toy Story 1-4, presented by Downtown Dallas Inc., will be held free April 1 thru April 6 at Pacific Plaza, located at 401 N. Harwood St. The theme for the month is “You got a friend in me.” From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. guests can enjoy the freshness of the outdoor air will watching a movie. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets. Families may want to bring snacks or purchase food from food trucks parked along the park. The event will also include lawn games and other entertainment.

Coco’s Hop-Up Shop

Coco’s Hop-Up Shop is a free Artisans/pop up event to support local artist. The family-friendly event will include exclusive anime merchandise and handcrafted items, plus candy treats and music. Dallas Easter Eggstravaganza

The Dallas Easter Eggstravaganza will be held April 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lofty Spaces, located at 816 Montgomery St. There will be three Easter Egg Hunts – with over 6,000 eggs – based on age groups: ages 2-4, ages 5-7 and ages 8-11. Other actives will include face painters, snow cones, food, giveaways, fun and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Presented by Elite Experience Events Cultural Organization, the event is free and open to the public. Local businesses will also have items for sale at vendor booths. children should bring Easter baskets.
