NFL Super Bowl champion DeMarcus Ware speaks to college interns

August 5 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

This Friday, Aug. 5, college students who participated in paid summer internships as part of the Dr. Emmett J. Conrad Leadership Program will be in for a special treat. That’s when DeMarcus Ware – NFL Super Bowl champion and beloved Dallas Cowboy player – will be on hand to share words of wisdom. Ware is well known for his high character, generous spirit and leadership skills both on and off the field.

Ware is expected to speak on goal setting, challenges and adversity. These are topics especially relevant as young people continue their efforts to navigate the aftermath of COVID-19. For example loss of focus, frustration, learning to succeed during a pandemic and more. Approximately 60 interns and their sponsors are expected to attend the closing ceremony at UT Southwestern, a longtime sponsor who has hired hundreds of interns over the course of the program’s nearly 30-year history. The program begins at 11 a.m., and Ware is expected to speak around 12:10 p.m. Find the event at UT Southwestern Medical Center, 6001 Forest Park Road, inside the T. Boone Pickens Auditorium.
