Chef’s Gallery, a student-run restaurant at the non-profit The Art Institute of Dallas, has joined the fight to end childhood hunger. The restaurant will feature a “Meal Through the Arts” menu this week to benefit No Kid Hungry. Every meal purchased during that time will benefit No Kid Hungry.
The specialized menu was created by students via the Meal Through the Arts, a culinary competition that challenged students from the culinary programs across The Art Institutes to enter their top dishes in canapé, salad, entrée and dessert categories. Twelve finalists were selected to prepare the dishes in front of a panel of chef judges in Atlanta. One dish in each category was crowned the winner and, together, form the menu.
The restaurant is located at 8080 Park Lane, Building C. Reservations can be made Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. by calling 469-587-1276.
The Black Police Association of Greater Dallas has expressed its committment to building strong partnerships with residents, civic organizations, community leaders, school officials and local businesses to meet the law enforcement needs of the community. In an effort to foster new initiatives that further the association’s philosophy of community policing and work to serve the community, the association has launched a new community outreach program, a Home Buying Seminar.
On April 7, the association held Home Buying 101, with homeownership tools, grant information and financing options. This was the first of many planned seminars the association hosted as part of its new homebuyers community outreach program. The list, issued earlier this month, is an annual recognition of companies that show commitment to diversity in areas such as hiring, retaining, and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBT and veterans.
Methodist representatives boasted that it provides patients with compassionate, quality healthcare that is sensitive to their values, particularly those that emerge out of their diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.
DiversityInc’s extensive annual survey yields an empirically driven ranking based on recruitment, talent development, senior leadership commitment, and supplier diversity. This year’s competition included new survey questions, and more sophisticated analysis from media source’s data scientists.
