Special to The Dallas Examiner
Over the weekend, Santa Claus made his 10th annual visit to the RedBird Mall. Housed in a plexiglass box on the ground floor at center court, he greeted children with a merry “Ho, ho, ho!” Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“2020 has been a year of many challenges and even Santa Claus has had to adapt,” said Lisa Long, general manager of Redbird. “It truly shows you can’t break the Christmas spirit.”
She said the socially distanced Santa continued his traditional chats with the children and took photos with precautions.
“During this COVID-19 pandemic, we are following all CDC, city and state guidelines to make Santa and his helpers available to the children,” Long said. “Most importantly, we just want to continue spreading joy and praying the wonder of the holiday season stays with each visitor.”
Each year, Santa and his elves, DPD officers who work off duty at the mall and Redbird Mall Security, volunteer to help bring Christmas cheer to children in the Southern Sector of Dallas.
