The Women’s History Month at the African American Museum Lecture Series will be presented during three afternoon lectures in March to honor Black women in history. Each presentation will begin at 2 p.m. at the African American Museum, 3536 Grand Ave.

The first lecture will feature Dr. Demetria McJulien Lassiter who will present the “Thelma Daniels Distinguished Lecture” on Saturday. Lassiter is a retired professor and Department of Social Work chair at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The second lecture will feature Dr. Tamara Lewis who will present the “Mabel M. White” Women’s History Month Lecture on March 12. Lewis is an assistant professor of the History of Christianity Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.

The series will conclude with Dr. Whitney Peoples who will present the “Estella Doty Young Leaders Lecture” on March 19. Peoples is a provost post-doctoral fellow in Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington.
