Robyn H. Jimenez is the Vice President of Production and Editorial at The Dallas Examiner. She began working at newspaper in January of 2001. She was hired temporarily as a secretary and soon became a permanent full-time staff. After almost one year, she was able to showcase her graphics skills and move to the Production Department as the Production Assistant, where she learned the rules of graphics and design from the production lead.
Robyn Jimenez fine-tuned her skills by taking classes at Eastfield and Richland campuses of then DCCCD – now Dallas College. She won first place for her design in the University Interscholastic League Journalism Contest.
In 2007, she was promoted to Production Manager. As the newspaper industry was ushered into a new digital age, Robyn Jimenez guided the transition by upgrading the files and procedures. She also introduced the publication to the community through social media – beginning with Facebook in 2009 and Twitter in 2011, and then adding five additional social media platforms over time.
During that time, she began taking on the responsibility of reorganizing and managing the Editorial Department. In 2012, Robyn Jimenez was promoted to her current position as Vice President of Production and Editorial, where she continues to manage the Production and the Editorial departments.
Robyn Jimenez is the host of A Closer Look @ DFW Black Businesses, a monthly video post that highlights small Black-owned businesses and African American entrepreneurs in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
She is also a co-host of Open House with The Dallas Examiner Editorial Team – a Facebook Live that allows the community to get to know the editorial staff as they host an informal discussion on issues concerning the community. Additionally, it informs viewers about content in The Dallas Examiner.
