Monday Night Politics will be held April 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the African American Museum at Fair Park featuring three forums for the May 4 election.

These are important elections for the future of education in Dallas. 

Justin Henry, the current Dallas ISD District 9 representative, is not seeking re-election. There are four candidates running for his seat: Da’On Boulanger-Chatman, Edward Turner, Oralia Alonso and LaKashia Wallace. 

The College Board Trustee District 7 position currently occupied by Charletta Rogers Compton also up for is contention. Compton occupied the position for 24 years. The candidates running for her position are Joey Rodriguez, Jasmond Anderson, DeAndrea Fleming and Kesha Nicholas O’Reilly.

The City of Dallas Bond Election will also be on the ballot. The final proposition amounts include over $500 million for street maintenance and repair, over $340 million for the city’s park and recreation centers and close to $20 million for homeless housing projects.
